Spring Beer Festival a Sell Out!

The Isle of Wight Steam Railway's Second Spring Beer Festival, held over the May Day Bank Holiday Weekend, has been judged a resounding success by both customers and railway staff. Thirsty customers consumed 18 72-pint casks of Isle of Wight and Mainland brewed Real Ale and two barrels of traditional cider. Despite an increased beer order this year the last pint had been consumed by mid afternoon on the last day of the festival - the quantity of beer will be further increased next year to ensure that all of our customers thirsts are satisfied! Now firmly established in the IWSR Special Events calendar, further improvements are already being planned for the 2008 festival, including a change of venue to a marquee, and will ensure the Beer Festival is able to meet the high expecations of it's customers as the event grows in size.

Beer aficionados should note that there will be a Real Ale Bar at the 1940's Weekend and during the August Bank Holiday Steam Show our renowned Beer Festival will once again feature over 40 Real Ales!
