Once again the atmosphere of the1940s Front Line Branch Line was recreated at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway over the weekend of 1st & 2nd July. This was the fourth time that we have staged a 1940s nostalgia event, this years was the best yet! Military vehicles, 1940s re-enactors and period posters gave Havenstreet Station an authentic 1940s atmosphere. Wartime fashion and dancing displays kept the crowds entertained whilst the Real Ale bar slaked the visitors thirst. For the first time a 1940s Nostalgia Night with dancing to the Big Band sound was staged and proved a tremendous success - watch out for a bigger and better 1940s event at Havenstreet next summer!
