SOCIAL EVENTS
As well as operating and maintaining the railway, our members even manage to find time to enjoy themselves! There is a thriving social scene, mainly centred around the Civil Engineering Departments Working Weekends. Normally members of the team meet up at a carefully selected pub on the Friday evening to discuss the weekends activities. After work finishes on the Saturday evening there is normally a trip to one of the Islands finest pubs, selected for the quality of the beer, food and atmosphere - the Saturday evening crowd regularly exceeds 20 strong!

In the lead up to and during the Summer Steam Show there are a whole host of activities including BBQs, entertainment in the Beer Tent and our traditional visit to the Portsmouth Beer Festival. For those that remain after the show is "put to bed" there is always a Post Show Day Out - for example, last years was a "Round the Island Bus Tour" taking in the sights and featuring the open top bus trip to the Needles Old Battery.

In recent months social events have inclued a visit to Goddards Brewery and a trip to the Bluebell Railway to see the two Island Terriers in action at the LB&SCR weekend.
