WOODLAND WALK

Havenstreet Station is near the heart of rural Isle of Wight and our Railway runs through part of the Island's unspoilt countryside ... And you can get even closer to nature in our Woodland Walk!

During your visit, take a stroll away from the bustling platform and explore the Woodland Walk which is accessed via a path leading from the Children's Play Area. The woodland has grown up over the past forty years and an amusing family trail has been created by volunteers of the Railway.

Nestling perfectly within the woodland is a rustic stage with seating on a natural slope. On selected days this is a stunning and unique venue for traditional music, story telling and small theatrical productions. Haven Falconry periodically have demonstrations of their birds in this natural setting.

Various paths wind their way through the woods, eventually leading down to a stream, which further to the south runs through a culvert under the railway line (Note - there is no access to this). Bridges cross the stream and a path takes you into a section of Site of Special Scientific Interest protected woodland owned by our neighbours, The People's Trust for Endangered Species. To visit their website and find out more about the PTES click on the link www.ptes.org

Whatever the season, the Woodland Walk is a lovely addition to your visit.
